Mt. Con Head Frames in the sky!

Monday morning, I was driving North on Harrison Ave when I noticed the Mt. Con head frames floating above
the fog!  It looked surreal so I took a few photos before it faded!

Burn Notice and Watercolors!

I painted most of the day today.  I sat at the office desk so I had quick access to my flower photos for reference.  Half of my computer screen was of orange poppies and irises and the other half was on Netflix ...playing Burn Notice --a television spy show.  Towards evening, I started to feel uneasy.  I couldn't figure out what was troubling me so I stepped away from the computer.  I couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen ...that something was wrong.  Then, I thought about the number of Burn Notice episodes I'd watched ...I had to laugh!  That many spy shows and I'm going to start feeling a little on edge!  It reminded me of when I was powering through Prison Break episodes while painting abstract oils.  I was a little shaken-up then too!

So, I fixed the kids dinner and I poured myself a glass of wine and headed outside with my sketchbook and a fresh bouquet of lilacs and tulips to draw.  That did the trick.

My solution ...the mamma starling, squawking at me, was even refreshing!

A Trip to Elk Park

Jessie loved the swallow's nests under the bridge.  She kept saying how very cute they were ...and asking how they make little nests like that? Good Question.  We walked up a trail to meet Gavin and Travis.  There was a little running creek.  Jessie was walking with her cup of hot chocolate, in her pjs and just giddy over the creek.  "I just love the creek Mom!"  I replied, "I love the little girl who loves the creek."

Today was most beautiful with everything blooming and public land to run around on.  I'm so grateful for this place and time ...and everyone that has worked for such peace and freedom.

Once, a man pulled up into a gas station in the country, and asked the gas station attendant, "What are the people like in the next town up ahead?" The attendant said, "What were the people like in the town you just came from?" "Awful people," the man responded. "Rude, cold, hostile, abrupt, unfriendly. They wouldn't give me the time of day." "Well," said the attendant, "I'm sorry to say it, but you're going to find exactly the same sort of people in the next town up ahead." A bit later, another driver pulled in, heading in the same direction as the
first. "What are the people like in the next town up ahead?" the second man asked. The attendant said, "What were the people like in the town you just came from?" "Wonderful people," the second man responded. "Friendly, warm, helpful, patient, kind. They went out of their way to help a stranger." "Well," said the attendant, "I'm happy to tell you that you're going to find exactly the same kind of people in the next town up ahead."
